Hiya all

hope everyones good. As the title says we are in Malta.... Finally got rid of the shop....Januar 14th we closed the doors and emptied the stock.... yes it was scary, yes it was hard.... no nobody decided to give it a go and buy it..... so we thought what the hell..... close up and enjoy our lifes together..... in fact i cant wait.....

So what have we been doing since we got here on the 15th.... well we sorted out the water leak.... very easy that one it wasnt our water leaking :)

We have finally seen the new door we paid for and very nice it is too, we have asked freddie to come and see us on monday to do some more work..... so we will see if he comes, should do.

We have also made lists of what we need to do, we do have to thank danny for this ... list list list thats his motto and we are following it.

Both Tina and myself have put skype on our iphones, how awesome is that, we were talking to zoe and danny on friday night for absolutley nothing.... yep Nowt, bugger all, NO WONGA AT ALL..... pretty cool and it was as if they were standing next to us.

i have emailed the Dive school and received an email back from viv today saying that alan is in UK doing MSDT and CD Update so will see me this week when he gets back.

apart from all this we are finally relaxing, i am writing this as tina is reading next to me, very relaxed (Especially since i have just completed a 3 miles run and mostly uphill.....see it here )

Time for shower and i will update with tomorrows news....

ALL I CAN SAY IS I AM SO GLAD WE HAVE FINALLY CLOSED THE SHOP AND BOTH TINA AND MYSELF HAVE TIME FOR EACH OTHER AND RELAXATION

Happy New Year you all...

What have we been upto and have i started smoking again........ two big questions there....

Answers on a postcard please ... no not really... we decided that the business needed to go so we handed in the notice on the shop on the 10th December and close for good on the 9th January. The stress of wanting to sell is no longer with us and we have our house on the Market also......

So after all this stress have i started smoking again....No ... the little stick hasnt entered my life any more... i do silly things like run 10 miles or 5 miles or in extreme cases i ran 13.1 miles.... and i am in the London Marathon... yes i am silly but i need some funding for this one so can you all please click on the little widget on the right and donate some bucks to me...

We fly out to Malta on the 15th January as I have to meet the guys at the Dive centre and we have some little bits to sort out with the apartment.

When do we go for all time.... soon i hope the Virgin London Marathon is on the 25th April and i hope that we will be in Malta either just before or just after that.

I am going to cut this short as i need to go for a run...... what ever happened to i need a cream cake or i need a cigarette or i need a sh..... mmmm we wont go there.

Thats it, I have had enough of the Little Nicotine stick taking over my life........well this could be true for most people, but for me its not.....

I have been on this wonderful get healthy and stay fit regime.... all to do with the doctor telling me that one day i will die.....wait there doc.... so will everyone else....

I have high Cholestral, i need to stop eating fat.... good god.... no more cream cakes, no more Lattes...argghhhhhh...

anyway i digress, with all of this Healthy eating and the gym work i have been doing, i though, in my wisdom.. that giving up smoking will also help.... why do i do this to myself.....

So, i went to our local no smoking Clinic to see what they could do to help, rip off my arms or something similar, they suggested Nicotine replacement or a Drug called champix that acts on the Nicotine receptors in the brain to help you not actually want nicotine... hey they sound great... do they do them for cream cakes ;)

So...... 13 days into the treatment..... I have not had a cigarette for 8 days, my health is improving, i can smell the difference between people who smoke and don't smoke.... unfortunatley the cravings for the cream cakes still haven't gone away....

In the past 6 weeks since the doctors diagnosis i have lost 1 stone (14lbs) in weight, my body fat has reduced from 33% (Yes a third of me was blubber) to 26% and i have stopped smoking.... GOD HELP TINA !!!! I MUST BE REALLY SHIT TO LIVE WITH.....

My darling wife thank you for putting up with my moods (Nothing new) and for giving me you unconditional love.... I love you right back XX

Fathers Day....

Sent my father a card, felt guilty, was it enough.... why do we always asume that a card will do.... i didn't even phone my dad on fathers day.....why ?? because i was to consumed in my own little world... If you read this Dad...(Highly unlikely) but i am sorry, i should have rung even to say the same to you...HAPPY FATHERS DAY .....

Tina was kind enough to get me a card.... and a few pressies..... i know, she just wants me to be happy......

I didn't receive anything from my children on fathers day, i did however have a phone call from my son which was nice.... they did send cards, i had to pay £1.08 to collect them from the post office... Its the though that counts.... especially when you have to text dad to send you money because you spent upto your overdraft or you have a special weekend sorted out and need £100 for the clothes and hiking boots etc.....

I can say though that my children will never be roped in to the hype around these days, i.e. easter, fathers day, mothers day etc.... they have never got any money to buy anything ...

anyway off for now and back to reality of work..... still no one looking at the pruchase of the business yet but who knows i may win the lottery on Saturday.... here's wishing

Been a long time since my last post. We have been busy....

All done in Malta, Apartment sorted and things are in place for the move to Malta.

Business has been up for Sale and had a few sniffs but nothing definite yet... The final peice of the jigsaw just doesn't seem to fit yet.

Tina has been busy with the house here and seems constantly to be working, while i am working here, then at home then teaching diving..... guess which i like best

Hopefully i will be able to update soon with news of the business selling... we will see

Arrived in Malta yesterday at 4pm, Wind and clouds, but still very humid...

can't beleive that we have nearly finished with the sale of the old apartment and the purchase of the new one, seemed to go on forever...

Went to the Council to get a permit today for the Hi-up and then sat outside Lite-Bites for our morning Latte....IT RAINED HARD ....

Clouds have now gone and the sunshine is beating down..... very nice

Have an appointment at the Notaries this afternoon and then its pretty bay for something to eat and a nice Cisk or 2..

Had a little walk from the beach to our new apartment today just o see how far it was... less than 5 minutes... GREAT !!!! will be able to have a little drink and still walk home

I think thats it for know, left my camera at home this time but will bring it with me for the next flight....

Hiya again all....

This afternoon i am sitting at home on my lappy working because i forgot to get things done at the office and thought that i would update you all on whats been happening...

We have had a local builder in do some work in the Garden.... clearing out and putting a new base down for a new Shed... well Tina Calls it a Shed... i think its going to be the size of a small bungalow :)

On Sunday we fly to Malta to finally sign over our old apartment to the new owner and grab some rays..

I have been going to Birzebuggia in the south of Malta since 1978 (Yep 30 years) and LOVE IT... The People, the Country and the climate... everything you could ever want... I have met some Fantastic people and still remain freinds with them to this day and hopefully continue to remain freinds in the future.

We purchased our first property there 3 years ago and haven't looked back since.....

We also love travelling and have been to so many great countries since we married 12 years ago including Sri Lanka, Belgium, Portugal, USA, Maldives, Hong Kong, Singapore... the list goes on....

Why, some people have asked is your blog named "We are in paradise", the reason behind this is simple, in my life now i have everything i have ever wanted, i have a beautiful and wonderful wife, i have contentment in my life and how i live my life, i have 2 fantastic children whom i love very much and grandchildren who are absolute treasures.... but i have something missing.... I want to be somewhere else... this blog is started now because we are making plans to complete our life and the way we live our life.... I have for the Last 5 years trained in the Art of Scuba Diving and have gained the dizzy Heights of Master Scuba Diver Trainer (Instructor who can teach lots of things) this is going to be our new llife... we will be based in Malta and will travel to whereever the jobs take us, Already i have had offers of work from Bali and Maldives... so you see... My, or should i say our life is very nearly completion, we are getting to the top of the Mountain or to the light at the end of the tunnel....

We are in Paradise.... well nearly :) !!!!!!!

Hiya all, yes 2 posts in 2 days.....yeek sounds like we aren't so busy.... but we so are !!!

I have been asked to place some of our Paradise Pictures up on the Blog, so here goes....Most are from the Maldives and mostly Underwater as that is what i do when we don't work in a cold UK....

Nearly back...

July has been extremely busy back in the UK, with Tina and myself spending late nights in the Shop and Having Loads of repairs to do. Back in Malta though on the 14th September although only for 3 days... but that should finally see the end of the old apartment and the beginning of the New :)

Then back out there on 27th September to hopefully get everything done....Painting, Furniture etc.... would be nice just to have a holiday.

What with Bank Managers, Solicitors, Medicals....yeh i know.... a break would be nice... Role on April 2009.

Anyway back to us, work, work and more work... this weekend we have the Isle of Sheppey Round table Donkey derby which means loads more work but also means we have monday off ... wahey....

My Little Bro and his wife and children are coming up for it and My daughter is coming to see me with them ... happy days....

My Darling wife bought me a lovely Bracelet for my birthday, 3rd August, and we had a lovely meal out on our Wedding Anniversary (12 years and still going so strong).

I will post some Donkey Derby Pictures and Pictures of the Weekend fun that we will be having with the family up here....

Well, here we are, the first post for our blog.

Just made this for family and friends to see what we are upto, where we are in the world and how everything is going.

After just spending a week in malta sorting out our old apartment, and trying to sort out the new one, we are exhausted.... yes sounds really nice going to Malta for a week, but with temperatures in the 35 to 36 degrees and running all around the place to get things sorted it is hard work. But the evening make up for it.... nice cold bottles of Cisk for me and Cointreau for Tina.

Managed to get everything sorted we needed to and back out there at the middle of september to get the final part done and move into the new place :)

Anyway back in the UK now and got to keep working to pay the bills and dream of the time when ....
